My story
Django is a 2-year-old male Akita mix who has already been neutered. He was brought to PAHS by animal control; and his owner never came to reclaim him. Django has a magnificent, medium length, black coat with brown markings; and he has gorgeous eyes that will intently stare you down. He weighs 54 pounds so he is considered to be a large dog. Since he came to PAHS as a stray we are still learning about Django. We do know he is extremely strong and active--we would suggest an experienced owner only for Django. He would not be suited for a home with children or older adults due to his energy and strength. Django would also not be good in a home with other dogs and absolutely no cats. Akita's are known to have complex personalities and Django is no exception. He appears to be very intelligent but, like most Akitas, he can be a bit stubborn. Django will bond quickly with his new owner and he will quickly become protective and fearlessly loyal to his new family. Django is a great dog but he needs a special adopter who is willing to spend a lot of time with him.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $75 and cat/kitten adoption fees are $35 (as long as funds are available). Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative. February 11, 2023, 7:11 pm
