　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments. To adopt, we need to receive an application (link to the online version found below). This beautiful young lady is Louisa, a Dilute Tortoiseshell with beautiful vivid coloring! She has some of the most beautiful smoke blue and peachy pink dilute hues we've ever seen! Louisa also shares distinct Maine Coon features to go along with her original look. She's approximately 1 year old! We don't believe she'll reach typical Maine Coon proportions - she will likely stay under 20 lbs. as an adult. When Louisa was first rescued, she had been attacked by another animal (we hope it wasn't inflicted by a person) due to rather unsightly puncture marks on her back. She has given antibiotics, and her wounds healed completely and wonderfully! Louisa is very friendly, but always on her own terms. She is very opinionated! Don't let her tell you any different - she loves attention. She insists on being in whatever room people are in, always wanting to be the center of attention. We recently discovered she's pretty nosy - she loves nooks, crannies, bags, boxes, and caves! If she wants in a room, she'll beg at the door like a dog, meowing and pawing at the door! She's very intelligent. She wants to be around people and will do whatever it takes to seek out somebody to pay attention to her or just to sit with. She should do fine with kids who can handle her gently and read her signs. She does well around other gentle and friendly cats, but Louisa wouldn't mind being the only cat. Please stop in at our cat adoption center or contact us to meet Louisa! Negative for FIV/FeLK, current on vaccinations and spayed. Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters.
