Derby's story
Adoption fee on this dog is $300.
Derby is a 8-9 month old boy pulled from a local shelter. He has gold eyes, a shorter black coat with a small white patch on his chest. He is likely a Dutch Shepherd or Malinois mix and loves to run and play most of the day. He is very social with other dogs and people.
Like most young dogs is age, he likes to feel everything with his mouth, so he should not go to a home with young children. He is currently in a foster home on a ranch, where he spends his days following his foster parent on the ATV. He has several other dogs to play with and loves swimming and retrieving sticks thrown in the pond. Derby has a good recall, is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands such as "here" "sit" "bed" "outside" "leave it" "bring" etc...
He rides good in the car, eagerly jumping in, and sitting quietly for the ride. He is food motivated, and has a willing to please nature, which makes training easy. Derby is a high energy boy who is looking for an active family to call his own. Derby would be a great jogging or hiking partner or companion dog for an active person.
