My story

　　Big-eared boy with a huge heart!Hi, guys! My name is Dennis, and I’m a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois Mix, weighing in at 55 pounds.  I’m a big-eared boy who has already been neutered and in great health.  I was rescued by TAP after having endured some pretty terrible conditions.  My back legs weren’t functioning when I was found on a Mexico farm, and it is believed that I was hit from above with blunt force, most likely from a shovel. But enough about my past; let’s talk about me!  I’m a loving and loyal boy with a sweet demeanor.  I have so much love to give, and all I want is to be loved in return.  I also have lots and lots of energy (I am a Malinois puppy after all), and I need to release that energy with lots of physical activity and mental stimulation.  My favorite activities include playing tug-o-war with my toy ropes, running around, playing with balls, and having yummy bones to chew on.  But, most of all, I just love being around and playing with my people.  I crave human attention, and I will be vocal to make sure you know it! In addition to being super cute and having a head tilt that will melt your heart, I’m also highly intelligent and easily trainable.  I’m completely house- and potty-trained, but my leash training still needs some work.  Another thing that I’m working on is my separation anxiety. I don’t do very well when my people leave me behind.  Although I don’t destroy things in the house when I’m alone, I will whine/bark until you come back home.  Finally, due to my past, I can get scared of new doggies and new people.  Stranger danger is a very real thing for me, so I need a slow introduction in order to feel safe and comfortable. As far as my ideal furever home goes, I would do best with an experienced or knowledgeable Malinois owner since I need a specific amount of physical and mental stimulation in order to keep me happy and healthy.  I can also get a little mouthy, so an adult-only home would be best for now.  I would also prefer to be with someone who is home most of the day since I can only be left behind for short amounts of time.  Do I sound like the pup for you?
