My story
I`m a sweet old girl with chronic arthritis in my knees.
I`m not a surgical candidate so I need a quiet home that will care for me during retirement.
Shelter staff willing be running a bunch of test and completing a handful of procedures to help me be successful.
Don`t worry.
I`m any easy going all gal that`s ready to melt into your house and show you what retirement looks like!EAR INFECTIONS IN DOGS (OTITIS EXTERNA)This dog was found to have an infection in __the left ear__. A medication called Claro was applied to that ear on ___date___. This medication lasts for 28 days. DO NOT WASH OR FLUSH THAT EAR, or it will wash away the medication. Please follow up with your private practice veterinarian to ensure the ear infection has resolved. Recurring ear infections can be signs of an underlying disease, like allergies or endocrine diseases. If this is a chronic problem, please discuss with your private practice veterinarian for further diagnostics.CRUCIATE LIGAMENT (ACL) INJURYThis dog has evidence of a cranial cruciate ligament injury (in sports for humans, it is equivalent to an ACL tear). This is when the ligament in the knee is injured, causing inflammation, pain, and lameness. Treatment options include: medical management (treating pain with anti-inflammatory drugs and allowing rest while the knee stabilizes itself) or surgical repair (where implants are placed to mimic the knee`s previous stabilization mechanism). Follow up with your private practice veterinarian is recommended to discuss which option is best for this dog and your family.GERIATRICThis patient is geriatric and is currently clinically healthy and stable at this time. Older patients will need regular care including, but not limited to, physical exams, blood work, and any medications. Please follow up with a full service veterinary hospital for continued care.
