My story

　　Deke is the best of both worlds!Hi, pals! My name is Deke. I’m a curious, cuddly boy who can’t wait to be your loyal companion. I’m a 10-month-old, 25-pound, Shepherd mix. I was rescued by The Animal Pad off from Kern County’s euthanization list. I’d been hit by a car and my leg needed medical attention. Lucky for me, TAP helped me get all the TLC that I needed! I’m already neutered and I’m good to go. I hope that my luck continues in a home with you!I’m a friendly dude who gets along with all people and pooches. The more pals to play with, the better! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure what I think about them. I’m a curious boy who likes to explore. I can be high-energy at times, but a nice long walk will do the trick! Afterward, I’ll happily snooze at your feet or nap in the sun. I’d love to cuddle up in bed with you if you’ll let me. I’m a go-with-the-flow, loving boy!I’m bathroom trained and do well in the house. I love going on walks but could use a little more leash training. I still have some puppy habits and will occasionally chew on things other than toys– oops! I am the ultimate companion, so I don’t like being left alone. I get some separation anxiety and will sometimes scratch or bite at my crate. I settle down, but this is something I could keep working on. I’d love to continue my training with you!My ideal furever home is one with plenty of people or pups around to keep me company. I’d do great with other doggos or kiddos. I love being part of the pack! All in all, I’m pretty mellow, but still enjoy nice long walks and exploring. Like I said, I’m the best of both worlds!
