My story

　　Hi there!!! My name is Daizy and I am a super sweet and loving classic Basset, just about 4 years old. I came to BROOD after my owner became ill and could no longer care for me. It's been a whirlwind of change for me and I can be a little shy at first with new people, especially men, and new situations. Once I feel comfortable in my surroundings, I will be your best buddy and follow you everywhere. I am house-trained and crate-trained. I don't mind being in my crate at all and like to have my own safe place while I adjust to a new home and family. I love people, children, and other dogs. I even get along with the cats in my foster home. I enjoy going on walks or to the dog park so I would be ok in a home without a fenced yard. I would do well in an apartment as I am pretty quiet though I do like to alert my foster family to new cars or trucks outside. I just love getting belly rubs!!!! I never pass up an opportunity to get some scratches and pets. I love getting hugs and will wiggle into any lap for a nice cuddle and snooze. I am very laid back and easygoing. I always try to do my best to make my family proud of me so they will give me more treats!It has been a lot of adjustment for me but I am ready for the next chapter of my life and a family to love. 　　We adopt to residents of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, DC, Delaware, and southern Pennsylvania.

　　Do not apply to adopt from BROOD if you live in another state.

　　We require a virtual home visit and a veterinary reference.

　　The age of many BROOD dogs is unknown, as very few come with official records.

　　The estimate on the dog's age is usually the initial estimate given by the receiving shelter, which may be different from that given at the time of the initial checkup.

　　Different veterinarians may also give different ages, and those different opinions are sometimes reflected on the record.
