Dachshund - Beatrice - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog

　　Beatrice (B for short) is a 12 year old, 9 lb female red Dachshund that is cute as a bug. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and has a couple teeth left in her mouth, definitely enough to eat very well (May be her greatest joy in life, eating). B has had some type of spinal injury in her past which caused nerve damage which means she will be a special needs adoption. She walks awkwardly, but does walk a lot all over the house to follow her person. She has trouble controlling her bladder and bowel. We are trying a new medication to see if it helps, otherwise, she needs to be watched constantly. She seems to know when she has to urinate because she will stop and squat, but has no idea when the bowel movements occur. We are trying to keep her regular, so she is fed on a routine basis two times a day, and then taken out to potty. This is a work in progress, but she will never have full control and will need someone very special to take care of her. She does fine with the other dogs, but really can?t run and play much. She does like to go on walks, but can?t go far due to her handicap.
