Meet Cubby Cubby was born inside the Lodi Animal Shelter (LAS).
Cubbys mother came to the LAS very pregnant.
On the evening of April 25, 2016, after all the staff went home for the day, Cubbys mother went into labor.
When staff came into the shelter in the morning, she had given birth; however, all the kittens were still in the birthing sac except for Cubby.
They had all passed away shortly after birth because the sac remained on them for some reason the mommy fdidnt clean the other kittens and free them.
LAS staff contacted Second Chance Kitty (SCK) and told us about them.
They expressed concern over their health should they remain in the shelter as upper respiratory infections are common and newborns have lowered immune systems.
We made room for the pair and they were swiftly pulled from the shelter.
Cubby has grown and grown, she is still waiting for her forever home.
Cubby is a foster favorite, but no one seems to give the girl a chance.
She is a little shy at first but enjoys being pet and loved once she is comfortable.
She can be very sweet and likes to chew on your hair when shes giving YOU love!
She can sometimes be a brat cat and will occasionally shell swat at you if she doesnt want to do whatever your trying to do and gives love bites too. But I she wants to do it, its all good. Typical woman! Because of these habits, shes been with us for almost 2 years. Cubby is just misunderstood and we really think shell make someone, the right family, a loveable companion. Cubby is hoping to find her family soon as she is ready to give and accept love.
Cubby is looking for a family who will make the 15-20 year commitment to her and care for her all the days of her life.
Cubby needs a family she can count on in the good times and bad, through moves and family stresses.
She eats a quality food with low or no grain and gets a small amount of quality canned as a treat. Cubby, as all SCKs deserves the best life possible and to be spoiled and cherished.
Spayed, rabies, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, deflead, FELV/FIV tested negative and litter box trained.
