It was a very windy day this photo was taken & I thought it was so cute I just had to post it! Corrine (Cori) is one of my best girls. She is a Bassett Hound but she is on petite for Basset since she is only 44 lbs & a true low rider! I know her photos show her looking for serious but watch her video's below so you can see how much fun she really is! She is extremely sweet, gentle & very laid back & has a pure delightful personality! Her coat is a lovely shade of red, extremely shiny & she is so soft when you pet her and those VELVET ears are so wonderful to touch! Hounds always have ears that feel like velvet. We have determined that she should be an only child. 95% of the time she gets along with all her foster siblings -- but she will NOT tolerate any dog who growls at her! She never ever growls at humans ---- just dogs that make her feel threatened. She just loves people and all kids & we hope that she is adopted in a family with kids or grandkids. She does LOVE chasing balls & toys & when she runs with those stubby legs you just can't help but laugh! As a foster Mom, I'm not 'supposed' to have favorites but Cori does have my heart. She is SO loving, SO sweet, SO funny, has tons of personality & that tail of hers is constantly thumping with joy & she has a wiggle butt that just doesnt stop. She is such a good girl that I let her sleep in bed with me. I don't do that for all the dogs, but she such a snuggle bunny, she just wants to inhale you. Once she settles in she stays put & thankfully she doesn't snore! She is what we call a true 'Constant Companion' as she just wants to be close to anyone who will pay attention to her. Bassett's have short legs, so you just cant stop smiling when you see her waddle when playing outside with her fostering siblings. When she comes in from outside she does another cute thing that I havent seen before

　　she runs in & does a sort of baseball slide on the carpet! Her favorite thing to do is find her way to the sofa, chair & what she loves best is being allowed to get in bed & snuggling. For her sake, I would only want to adopt her to a family that like me, allows dogs on the sofa & in bed

　　of course only as long as they are not wet or muddy. Dont think by looking at her photos that shes sad

Cori had a pretty horrible start in love with abuse & neglect when she was in KY but she has come a long way to being the cutest adorable little girl. It took over a month for me to gain her trust & then I got to see the dog she was meant to be & she shows me the joy in her spirit. Yet, when meeting new people at first she remembers that her previous owner beat her so she still gets nervous, but she warms up very quickly as long I assure her everything is just fine. It was so sad being her foster mom because she used to just fall to the ground with fear --- but now she is so comfortable living in a home with a family that she sleeps on her back which proves she trusts me and now she can trust others. She is not a fear-biter, so you dont have to worry about that. Still, shell need an experienced family that will understand she has been through a lot in her short life. Cori had been adopted but she had an 8-year old Beagle sister who did not want to play with her or even be on the same sofa with her & growled at her every day for about 6 months. One day they got into a fight & had to be separated. Ive lived with over 550 dogs in my home, so I know them very well. I think what happened is just like a human, Cori got fed up with her sister growling all the time. Obviously, she had to be returned to me. She gets along with everyone here in my home, you can see that in the videos below. Yet, we do feel it's best if she is not adopted in a home with another dog. Cori did test positive for a tick-borne disease Ehrlichiosis which is like Lyme. She has never had any symptoms, just tested positive & is not sick. My Vet had her complete a 6-week course of antibiotics just to be cautious that she can remain symptom-free. We accept or credit cards & PayPal for the adoption fee ~ All LnF pups/dogs have been temperament tested & live in a foster home. ~ All pups and dogs have been housebroken (puppies are paper trained) & crate-trained and have had basic training ~ All pups/dogs have been Microchipped ~ Tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia & Lyme ~ Each dog is on Heartworm Medication & Flea/Tick year-round while in our care ~ Up to date with Rabies ~ Distemper, Parvo & Leptospirosis vaccines ~ de-wormed. Our adoption fee includes (30) days of FREE pet insurance with an option to purchase -- but it's your choice. We strive to provide the BEST medical care available so that YOU are assured all our pups/dogs are healthy, up-to-date on all necessary shots, spayed or neutered by our rescue. Adoption Requirements: *A minimum physical 4-foot high fence or is higher is always mandatory and must be installed. Some dogs may need a 6-foot wood or vinyl fence & if so it's noted on their profile. We will not consider any applications that does not have an installed fence.
