Cooper is a very sweet, soulful pigeon who is very happy to be married to Boba (also a pigeon racing survivor). Cooper & his rescue-pal Wicket were "surplus" racing pigeons that were sold for use as "dog birds" (to train hunting dogs). Their wings & tail were cut as short as possible, the shortest I've ever seen. They couldn't even jump up on the low ledge in my aviary. They were found stray in a South Bay parking lot (likely bought & "released" where feral pigeons live by someone thinking they'd be able to survive, they wouldn't have). They were very lucky to be rescued in time & taken to the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley who helped them until Palomacy could take them into foster care. Pigeon racing kills birds in lots of different ways. #FlyYourOwnDamnRacePlease apply to adopt /birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/
