My story
Meet Cooper! Cooper came to us as an owner surrender. Cooper was born in October 2020 and is currently around 45 pounds. When Cooper first came to us he was very nervous of new people, and shelter life. We are busy working with him each day to get him more comfortable, but new people are hardest for Cooper at first. He has experience living with cats, we are not sure how he would do with another dog. Cooper LOVES to play fetch with tennis balls or his favorite squeaky banana toy. Cooper keeps a clean kennel here at the shelter so we believe he is fully potty trained, and may only need a small refresher when learning a new routine. He will take some extra time and patience when learning a new environment and family. Experience with his breed is preferred.
All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org
When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.
Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.
If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at [email protected], send us a message on Facebook, or call or text .
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cooper ( BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED ), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
