Up for auction is a Conn 88H or 50H trigger trombone w/ Bach mpc. I can't say if this is an 88H, because the chief difference between the two is that a 50H is a brass bell and the 88H is a red brass bell. Now I have a man writing to say that this was not the only difference and it is his belief that it is indeed a 50H. I looked around at 88H pics and this one doesn't have fancy bell engravings like the 88H does. I left the lacquer inside the bell flare because most of it was still there and you can see its' original tint. This horn has had a rough life. It looks like a kid just tamped on the bell with a mouthpiece at some point, or the mouthpiece got loose in the case and just rolled around as a matter of practice. The old case is a black and gray tweed model with blue velour type interior. Still in pretty good shape considering the horn. It has been dropped and repaired at the main bell brace and some solder work was done near the slide input by the rotor casing. Slide has been repaired and although I always ship them dry, it works fine. Tuning slide has been dinged in and I balled out the dents well enough for 98% airflow. I can't restore this horn. The money just isnt' there. I stripped down the bell section to give it the most even appearance I could. So much lacquer missing. This horn is a trunk Bone. Plenty good enough to haul around or leave in the garage for playing. This is a good backup horn for your student player so he or she doesn't have to choose between carrying a horn home or their books. Comes with the original Conn and a spare Bach mouthpiece. Chem cleaned and a free turning rotor with a new yellow Yamaha string. I have a spare partial bottle of Hetmans slide grease I can include as well. This is a rightly playing horn, just on the rougher side. Not willing to make it a parts horn. Can't stand to see one go to waste. Here it is. Merry Christmas and peace to all. John
