COINS - Eisenhower Silver One Dollar (#58a) $25
ATTENTION COLLECTORS!!!!
I've had several offers already....Limited number left...
This is an Eisenhower One Dollar coin. The front of the coin shows President Dwight D. Eisenhower (our 34th President) while the reverse honors the landing of man on the moon (July 16, 1969).
This short-lived coin was only made for 8 years, from 1971 to 1978. Even though they were only made for 8 years the US mint managed to make quite a variety of these coins. All of the silver Ike?s were made of 40% silver. Its large size (38.1 mm in diameter, the same as previous silver dollar issues) was determined to be a major factor resulting in the general public not using it in circulating.
The collector editions of the Eisenhower Dollar of 40% Silver Clad composition were made in 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1975. The proof editions for 1971 and 1972 are likewise silver, while for 1973, 1974 and 1975 proofs were made in both Silver and Copper-Nickel.
