Coco's story

　　CoCo is a perfect example of neglect. That statement may come across as being offensive to some, but there is no legitimate excuse for anyone to intentionally allow their precious pet to become so malnourished and emaciated. This adorable little guy is as gentle and sweet as he can be, but it will take a lot of tender loving care, and possibly even a miracle to save him. His handsome coat hides, at least partially, the appalling degree of emaciation he is in, but the length of his claws helps to reveal the sad state of neglect he has experienced. One of his claws broke about in half after just walking on an area of large gravel for a few minutes. As pathetic and pitiful as this precious little soul's appearance is, he is still a very handsome little guy. He is long of body and short legged, so he looks to possibly have some basset genes mixed with maybe terrier of some type. He is as sweet as he can be, and he loves company. He followed me around in the yard like we were best friends. CoCo was surrendered to the shelter by his owner who stated that the little guy has some health issues that he either wouldn't, or couldn't pay to have treated, so he was surrendered to the shelter. As of the present, we don't know what his medical issues are. CoCo, according to his owner, is only three years of age (he appears a bit older than that!). He has been bathed, but he is desperately in need of veterinary care, and a good diet. If you could hold this precious little soul, you could feel for yourself how underweight he is, with his protruding hips, ribs, spine, and shoulders. Precious little CoCo needs a lot of prayers, a lot of tender loving care, probably even a miracle. There is no stray hold on sweet little CoCo, but he may need to go to a dedicated and qualified rescue or foster home rather than go the adoption route.
