　　Gentle Male Spaniel Mix

　　Hi there, my name is Shadow!

　　I?m a salt and peppery spaniel mix, about 25-30 pounds (I could stand to lose a few!) and about 12 years old. I have a very calm and gentle nature, but currently I?m feeling a little lost and a little sad, and even though the folks here at Muttville have seen me start to come out of my shell in just the few days I?ve been here, I know that there?s a happier dog inside of me that?s going to need some coaxing from a loving soul to come out.

　　My friend Butch (a shih tzu mix, who?s also here at Muttville) were rescued from a terrible hoarding situation in the Central Valley, so we really don?t know what it?s like to live in a normal home, a normal situation and to get the love and care that we need. And now that I?m here at Muttville, I?ve been getting lots of affection from the kind folks here, but I still feel very unsure about everything that?s going on, and more importantly, what?s going to happen from here.

　　It would be a dream come true to find a home where I?m loved and cared for and with a person who will have the compassion and patience to let me recover from everything I?ve been through at my own pace. I promise that if someone gives me that gift, I will return the favor by being a sweet, loving and loyal companion for life.
