My story
01/26/22 Clyve was brought back to the shelter after biting the small child in the home on Christmas day. There was a lot of stimulus and the bite was said to have occurred when getting off the couch. We are requiring that Clyve goes to a home without children under 12 years old. Clyve has been very sweet with his animal tenders and loves to jump up and give hugs. Clyve was said to be fully housebroken and has kept his kennel clean here at the shelter. Clyve has the desire to run and is looking for a very active home. He may enjoy learning how to skiijor or going on runs with his new owner. He will need daily exercise to keep him from feeling pent up. Clyve is a sweet energetic boy looking for his right fit. If you feel like you could match his energy please give the shelter a call!03/26/21 This handsome guy is Clyve. Clyve was brought into the shelter with 2 other Alaskan Huskies. Unfortunately, we do not have any information on these guys. They have been friendly here at the shelter towards their animal tenders and appear to have come from a sled dog background. They love being outdoors and most likely have lived outdoors their entire lives as they are still a bit uncertain of walking on the floors inside. These guys have a lot of energy and might really enjoy that sled dog life. They also are probably not use to riding in a vehicle so you will want to make sure they are properly restrained for transport. If you have not owned an Alaskan Husky before we ask that you do some research on the breed as these guys have a lot of energy and a high prey drive. When outside they should always be on a leash or in a tall fenced in yard. If he gets away from you he may be very difficult to catch. Clyve might also enjoy learning the art of skiijoring! To live his best life he will need a lot of physical and mental stimulation! We do not know how Clyve does with other animals such as dogs, cats, pocket pets, or livestock. One should always take caution when introducing animals. As mentioned earlier Alaskan Huskies have a high prey drive so having smaller critters around the house may not be a great option. Clyve is a sweet guy ready to literally run to his new family and if he seems like the right fit for you please give the shelter a call!
