Cloey is a mix, certainly some shepherd, maybe boxer, maybe ridgeback, maybe chow. She was eight years old in September of 2016. She was raised from a pup by my grandson and his ex-wife. Their divorce resulted in her being abandoned with me a year and a half ago.

She is affectionate to the point of wanting to sit in my lap. She can't wait for a tummy rub when I come home. When I am home she follows me everywhere. She is extremely loyal and a good watch dog.

She loves walks, which I am not able to manage very often, and she loves to play with toys. She needs an active owner who can spend lots of time with her and see that she gets proper exercise. She is very good off leash. She seems to me to be very intelligent, learning quickly what my requirements are.

Cloey has some negative traits, as well. She can easily scale a six foot fence or higher. Thus I have to crate her long hours when I am at work so my beagle can have access to a pet door. The crate is also necessary because she can almost always find something to get into and tear up, whether a low placed tissue box or a box of plastic wrap left out on the kitchen counter. The objects of her interest go far beyond the category of food. She likes to dig little holes (divits) all over the back yard, so her front paws are usually dirty and of course she tracks the dirt inside. She has a tendency to jump up (very strong, grasping front legs) thus an authoritarian "Down" must often be employed to save ones arms and legs from bruises. She grew up using the bed and the furniture as she pleased and is still learning her manners in that regard. Cloey has improved dramatically in her behaviors and proves herself to be a loving, playful pet. She does fine with other dogs, but prefers people.

Interested persons should email me at [email protected] and tell me what it is about Cloey that interests them and describe the kind of environment she would be living in. Include a phone number and I will call if I believe it could be a suitable match.
