Clara's story

　　Meet Clara! Clara has been on our radar for over a year. She was in a home of total neglect and suffering. We had approached the family numerous times. In the winter we supplied blankets and a dog house. This summer we visited her and our hearts broke. She was suffering terribly in the heat. Her fur was bubbling with gigantic ticks, EVERY INCH OF HER. After speaking with the owner, we were delighted that she turned Clara over to us. Prior to putting Clara up for adoption, we made sure she was in good health. Her blood work came back good (no tick fever!!) and we got her sterilized and up to date on her shots. Mainly though, Clara needed some time and we wanted to learn more about her. She is so sweet! Initially she is shy, timid and will seek shelter. However, once she feels comfortable, which does not take long; she will give you kisses and she literally gives hugs. Clara is beautiful. She is not quite two years old. She has so many years of love to give. She gets along well with other dogs. We have not tested her with cats but she seems so sweet that we believe she can be a friend to a cat as well.
