Chula is a beautiful 4 year old pitbull who's story brings us to tears everytime, but all the bad in her life is over now and the search is on to find the absolute perfect forever family for this wonderful girl. Chula lost her owner when he passed away a little over a year ago, and sadly no one came to help her. Chula was left to fend for herself, living in a back yard alone. As an unaltered and homeless female, Chula found herself very pregnant and about to give birth in the back yard she had called home for so many months. Luckily, a loving group of volunteers from HARTT helped to humanely trap Chula so they could get her family to safety before her defenseless puppies were born outside. HARTT was able to bring Chula safely to a shelter, and just in the nick of time! Chula had 12 beautiful, brindle babies the very next morning in a loud and crowded shelter environemt, which can be terrifying to any dog, especially a new mother trying to protect her family. At this point, Arizona Small Dog Rescue was happy to step in and take Chula with us, where she could have an entire quiet and peaceful office to herself to raise her family, with a little help from our loving staff. Chula was an amazing and wonderful mother, who was very patient and took great care of her very large litter of large puppies! Now that the puppies have ventured out on their own, it's time for this momma to relax and be the one getting loved and pampered! Chula is now spayed, so she will never ever have to worry about finding a safe place to have babies again! Chula is a very loyal girl who absolutely loves her people, but she loves them so much she really hates when they leave! Chula would be the best fit in a home where someone is home most of the time, as she would not be happy if her people were gone 10 hours a day for work. Chula is house broken, and will hold it until she can be let outside. If there are potty pads down, she will use those as well. Since being saved from the back yard, Chula has adjusted well to living inside and going out on her patio. When it comes to going outside on a leash, Chula will freeze up and refuse to walk. Chula will take a long time and a lot of patience to adjust to leaving home with her family, but we are confident that with enough time, patience and love she will become a well adjusted girl who will love joining her family for walks. This big but gentle girl weighs in at 60 pounds fully grown. Chula is a nervous girl who would do best in a quiet and calm adult only household. Chula has been great with other dogs who are smaller than her and do not get in her face. We believe Chula could live well with the right canine companion, but please bring your dog to meet Chula to make sure it's a great fit for everyone. Chula will need a home with a securely fenced yard. No apartments or rentals with weight or breed restrictions please. Chula is truly the most amazing and loving dog, and she deserves so much love in her future to make up for the love she has missed out on. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, vet checked, licensed, comes with 30 days of free pet insurance, and comes with a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $120.
