Chow Chow - Eva - Courtesy Post - Large - Senior - Female - Dog
My father-in-law has become very ill and has to leave his home and because of this he can no longer care for Eva. It breaks our heart to have to let her go, but because of our rental living situations no one else in the family is legally allowed to take her in. If you can help or know of any other resources, please let me know asap. Unfortunately we only have until Dec 31 to find a home for her. We can provide a big bin of food and treats to whoever takes her. Eva is a 12 year old chow/shepherd mix that has been in the family for 10 years. She's in good health aside from a slightly arthritic lower spine from aging that makes her a little slow to sit and stand. She loves going on walks, she's a serious cuddler and pretty low-maintenance. She's shared a back yard with 1 other dog and 2 ducks and she gets along well with them, but she is definitely the dominant dog. She's never been around cats or infants. She doesn't have the aggressive chow personality at all, she's very sweet and calm, although she does bark at intruders. She is spayed and microchipped. She knows how to sit and shake on command, although now that she's older, sitting on command is a little difficult for her. As far as being housebroken, she was adopted from a shelter when she was about 2 and she had some training already. But since then she has been mainly an outdoor dog. She would come inside for short visits or overnight during bad weather. Over the past 10 years, 98% of the time she was able to wait to go to the bathroom until let outside again. But she's never been a full-time indoor dog. I'm sure she could easily adjust if needed with a little work. She is brilliant and aims to please. If anyone is interested, they can email me at [email removed] or call . We're located in La Mirada, CA.
