A Chinese antique basket coffee table from the early 20th century, made of dark brown woven rattan over wood. Born in China during the early years of the 20th century, this charming basket will make for an excellent coffee table. Presenting woven rattan over a wooden structure, this piece charms us with its rustic appearance. The rectangular lid opens to reveal a spacious interior, convenient for storing items. The center support divider has been removed. The tapering body leads the eye down to the scalloped base with pierced motifs on two sides and the cross-shaped accents of the corners. One corner has slight damage to the cross-shaped accent (see photos).
