She can be a little cautious with new people and experiences so be sure to go slow and don't overwhelm her. Someone who has had a dog or two before should be able to help her acclimate to new situations but a first time dog owner will be considered with a required trainer consult. She warmed up quickly to another small dog that she met here at the shelter but she does tend to not want to share attention or what she considers "hers".
