This chess set and board we brought back from England -- hardly ever used - in excellent condition. The chessmen are the Lion King and his court of delightful animals. They are illustrations of the Goethe translation of the 13th Century poem Reynard The Fox, first published in 1867. Entirely hand made in Hull, England. The King is 8" tall and the pawns 4 ½" tall. Chess board is 23 1/2" square - beautiful. Certificate of authenticity included.
