　　Excelsior Manufacturing Company of St. Louis, reorganized in 1895 under the name of Charter Oak Stove and Range Company. Giles Filley invented and introduced the Charter Oak Cooking Stove, which was manufactured until 1949.

　　Charter Oak is the oldest stove in the west, and this stove was one of the largest wood burning stoves every made. Victorian Reddish Brown Porcelain Enamel. All doors swing open and close tight. Nickel plated stand, Nickel Plated (Beautiful) Air Damper controller, Nickel Plated Name display on front. Base and cast iron shows no cracks. Interior fire brick appears intact. Shaker grate with handle is operable. Stove designed to burn coal but could burn wood also. Decorative finial slides to side for placement of coffee or teapot for warming.

　　Stove measures 50" tall by 23" wide by 13" deep. Stove comes with antique metal floor fire shield,(Nickel plated stand with legs)
