My story
Meet Charlotte! This beautiful girl is looking for her furever home! She likely already has a foundation in potty training and basic manners but will need support during the transition from shelter to a new home! Charlotte is described as "super sweet and loving, she loves to lick people. She can be playful but enjoys cuddling." She is reported to be medium energy and already crate trained! Charlotte is a sweetie but can be shy and fearful when meeting new people.
She must be given the time and space to approach new people on her own. When meeting new people, Charlotte must be allowed to approach to sniff on her own. If she doesn't feel comfortable meeting a new person, this should never be pushed.
She likely won't be a dog who enjoys attending family gatherings or going out to socialize at restaurants or parks. Charlotte is a bit jumpy and will need help learning other ways to show her humans she wants attention. While it may seem cute, it can be scary for people that are uncomfortable around dogs and could lead to smaller children being knocked over. It is best to work to reduce this behavior and teach your dog how to greet people and ask for attention in a polite way. Charlotte would do best in a home with no young children because of her jumpiness. Charlotte has a pervious history of resource guarding her food to other animals. Charlotte should be given her own private area to eat and be left undisturbed. If you think this sweet girl could be the right dog for you, come and meet Charlotte today at the Anti-Cruelty Society!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Charlotte, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
