Charlie's story
You would be hard pressed to find two more handsome boys than Charlie and Jake. Jake is a 9 year old Golden Retriever, and Charlie is a 10 year old yellow English Labrador Retriever. These boys recently lost their Dad who was apparently a recluse and did not socialize Jake and Charlie. They do well with other dogs and get along great with their foster sister Stella. However, they are quite scared of people. They have warmed up to their foster Mom and are loving, playful and normal dogs when just around her. She is even able to walk the two of them, along with their foster sister on a leash. However, when new people come around they remain skittish, keep their distance and will often bark.
They have been around children and other dogs. However, they would do best in a home without young children due to the activity level of the children. Their foster mom says that their true personality is that of big goof balls. Jake is so smart he can open doors and prefers to be around his person, and Charlie is rarely caught without a stuffed animal in his mouth. They enjoy wrestling with each other, tug-of-war, and belly rubs from their foster mom. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. It will take a special family with patience and love to help Jake and Charlie overcome their fear of new people. Yet, the reward when they allow you to love them is beyond measure.
Adoption fee for pairs is 2 for the price of 1!
