Charlie's story

　　Hi, my name is Charlie. I am a 7 month old yellow lab puppy who is looking for my forever home. I was

　　turned into DLRR because my owner was diagnosed with cancer and could no longer give me the care I

　　need. My foster mom says that I am a typical lab teenager

　　Im housebroken, crate trained and love being around my foster family. Im great with kids and other dogs, although its unknown how I would respond to cats. I have not been around a doggie door, although Im a quick learner, so Im sure I can figure it out. I sleep well at night and like being in my crate. I stay off the furniture and am respectful in the house. I am not a digger and am not destructive, although I have been known to tear apart a dog toy or two. Kongs and other dog toys for strong chewers are a must! I love to steal socks out of the laundry and play keep away and Im always sticking my nose in places to see how I can help. Ive passed all my vet checks with flying colors and I ride well in the car. My foster mom says I have a playful and loving personality and that Im ready to learn - she also says that Im like royalty because Im AKC, whatever that means. In my mind, Im just a normal pup, looking for food and love.

　　Now for the teenager part

　　I need a family who can make sure that I get lots of exercise and provide firm and loving discipline when needed. Im a very good boy, but sometimes I forget my puppy manners. I love to help around the house, so sometimes I put my feet up on the counter or jump up on my family members. I cant help it - I get so excited! My foster mom has been working with me and teaching me the rules. I love to go on walks, but sometimes I pull and I am learning that I cant pick up souvenirs (trash) along the way and that I need to pay attention to whomever is on the other side of the leash. Im very curious about everything and have tried to sneak out the door if youre not paying attention

　　so you have to watch me so I dont escape. Sometimes I get frustrated when I dont get what I want and I might bark to get your attention. My foster mom says that these are all normal things that puppies like me do. Ive been making great progress and Im a quick learner, especially when a yummy treat is involved. I have loved making friends with my foster family, but I cant wait to find my forever home. Please reach out to my foster mom if you think I'm the perfect fit for your family.
