Chance's story

　　Hi! Im Chance! As in second Chance. I was found tied to a tree outside a super scary shelter in Big Spring, Texas after hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Truth be told, it seems like I may have had a rough 7 or so years before then, so I feel beyond lucky that I got an Golden Underdogs ticket here to Colorado last Octoberand boy do I have a new lease on life after just 6 months!

　　My foster Mom said that I was a super sweet boy from day 1 even with a heart full of worms, fluid in my lungs from kennel cough, about 10-12 bbs someone shot in me and a broken canine tooth. (Sadly, Im not totally sure if I was ever really loved as someones pet before, possibly just tied up in a yard or living on the streets) At first, I shuttered when you touched my head or neck but now we take off my collar every night to remind us that everything is totally cool now. Actually, Im extremely trusting and even be a bit of a ham. Did you know the shortest distance from sitting to a belly rub is aDIVE BOMB!?!?

　　I had a little brother, (a 6 month old puppy) Mom lovingly named Trouble, that got to CO a few days after I got here and really, really loved him a lot. He showed me what stuffed toys were all about and how much fun it was to snuggle and wrestle. I was really sad when he found his forever home right before Christmas, but my foster Mom has really tried to keep me around other dogs because my natural tendency is to be fearful of them. (you would too if you had scars on your face like I do) Im usually totally fine with smaller dogs and most females (unless they are dominant) and once I know for sure that you dont want to fight, I turn into a big puppy. I also get a little nervous on car trips but having the windows down helps a ton. (insert a very happy dog face smiling out the window here:)

　　More about meI love ALL people, even the little ones. (who usually need a little lick to get the rest of their lunch off their face) I am very relaxed at home, listen really well (I learned to sit like a good boy and come immediately when Im romping around in a place thats safe to have me off leash) and have never once barked or had an accident in the house. (or anyone elses house as my foster Mom and Dad have brought me all over Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona within the last few months...I had the entire town of Scottsdale swooning over me)

　　Im recently neutered, love to be outside whenever possible (I have a doggie door) and love, love walking around the neighborhood or exploring new places. My foster parents think I would be an amazing companion dog for pretty much any family (without very young children or cats) because Im very content to relax at home or in the yard (I dont get into anything except chasing squirrels and bunnies) and with a toy and a little playtime, I will be your loyal friend for life.

　　I cant wait to meet you and prove that this second Chance could be the best dog youve ever had.

　　Our Underdogs adult dog adoption fee is $300, which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
