My story
Thank you so much for looking into Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House for the newest addition to your family.
My brother and I had a VERY rough start at life; we were abandoned at a random stranger's house once we were big enough to leave the nest. The people, who's home we wound up at, called Wags and Whiskers and explained the situation and that they could not keep kittens that they did not plan nor prepare for. Wags stepped up and a volunteer came out to patiently sit and wait to get her hands on us. Once we were safe in the hands of our rescuers, we immediately started to purr and stopped acting like spicy, little feral kittens. Once we were at the rescue, we were taken to the vet to be checked out since we weren't eating as much as our rescuers would have liked us to be. At the vet it was determined that we had Panleukopenia (that's the kitty strand of ParvoVirus!) and we were given very low odds at survival. Fortunately, Wags and Whiskers did not give up on us, and thanks to 'round the clock care, we pulled through and went on to find our homes! Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of my story, I was returned to Wags and Whiskers only 2 short months after going to, what I had hoped would be, my new home. The reason I was returned might shock, or even anger you. I wasn't returned for any behavioral issues, but because my hips/back end moves a little differently than other kitty's do, this is not my fault, it is a side effect from having survived a deadly disease, it is a reminder of the amazing, strong and resilient fighter that I am, and the right person will come along and see that I am perfect with my little wobble! I still get around amazingly well, climb on cat trees, jump on and off of high furniture and run zoomies like a lunatic. If you are looking for the MOST affectionate kitten, and don't mind my slight wobble/quirk, please consider putting in an adoption application today!
At Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House, we do not discriminate against any animal based on their age, current health, or pre-existing medical condition(s). We are a dedicated team of volunteers, with a strong passion for animals and a very special bond with the injured, abused and abandoned. Due to the fact that we work so closely with qualified veterinarians, we are able, and willing, to take on the most complex medical cases to help give them the chance, that ever animal deserves, at a full, happy and healthy life. Our primary goal is giving hope to the hopeless; your adoption helps make a difference.
All of our cats are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.
Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each cat. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left in a box on the side of a road, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners.
Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.
