My story

　　11/21/21 Cessna Ty and his sister Piper Anne were surrendered to the shelter after their owner died and the family were unable to keep them. These two are oversized lovebugs. Here at the shelter, they have been very affectionate with everyone they have met. They are still quite young and have puppy tendencies, such as being vocal, digging, chewing, getting into the garbage and jumping on people. They would both highly benefit from attending an obedience class with a certified trainer to help corral these behaviors and direct them appropriately so these cuties can use their powers for good! Cessna and Piper are very large dogs that don't quite understand their size and are said to be very excitable around children and babies and rough when playing. For this reason, we are requiring they go to a home without children under 5. These lovely shepherd mixes have been together their entire lives and are very attached to each other. While we cannot require that they go to the same home, their previous family was hoping that they might find placement as a pair. If they cannot go together, they would probably do best in a home with another dog for company as they are active and social! Regular play dates with friend dogs are a bonus! Cessna and Ty are said to be kennel trained but are still mastering the art of potty training and may need some brushups in their new home(s), especially given the amount of change they have recently experienced in their young lives. Cessna and Ty know some basic commands such as sit, crate, no, stay, down and shake. It is unknown how either of these dogs will do with pocket pets or livestock.

　　Although they have lived with cats previously, the family indicated that while they thought Cessna was mostly interested in playing with the cats it could be difficult to tell his intentions for sure, and as Piper showed some undue interest in kitties, we are requiring that they go to a home(s) without cats.
