Cassie's story

　　**Cassie is currently being fostered in HOUSTON. She is available for out-of-state adoption as well to the perfect family. Her tax-deductible adoption fee is $495 for non-local adopters, which covers her transport to her new family. She is fully vetted, spayed and microchipped.** Hey guys, my name is Cassie! I was found living on the streets of Houston, which was pretty ruff for a little, quiet gal like me! I was taken in by a family who kept me for about a year. But I developed an eye problem and they were not able to care for me any longer so they surrendered me to a vet clinic. One of the vets took me under her wing and even took me to an eye specialist for surgery! Fortunately, they were able to save my eye and now it's as good as new! I have lived in a home with other dogs and did very well. I am a gentle, sweet girl who really likes a soft bed to sleep in - but laps are even better! I like pets, taking walks and cuddles. I am kind of shy with new people so I need a home who will understand that and help me build up my confidence. I like to be carried too - like a little princess! Note: Unfortunately, Cassie did not receive proper preventatives before coming into rescue and she is heartworm positive. She has been started on a slow kill medical protocol which involves oral medication monthly. The rescue WILL PROVIDE ALL of the medication she needs to clear the heartworms.
