This amplifier has been serviced, upgraded, and recalibrated. All electrolytic capacitors, power caps and all small caps, are replace with higher rated versions suitable for use in a MK II or MK II opt 002 upgrade. It is in excellent working condition ( Video at https://youtu.be/CbMGs1MSLyw )Upgrades include gold plated RCA input jacks, gold plated 5 way binding post output jacks, idle bias pivot (also called fulcrum pias pivot), shut off thump fix, and multi color power meter LED display (purple on status, 3 rows of green, then 1 row of yellow and finally 2 rows of red). The amp was also adjusted to facory settings.Previouely tested to full power with speakers capable of handling the power. The video only gets the power indicators to about half as the speakers I had handy to shoot the video do not have the power handling capabilities for this beast's output. Original units in need of rebuilding, and due to capacitor age most need rebuilding, cannot produce full power like this rebuilt and upgraded unit can. Units that have not had all the electrolytic capacitors changed will not only have reduced output but are likely to stop working once one of the many capacitors gets far enough off value.Case is good condition with a couple minor scratchesThis amp has been a cherished part of my audio system. I love the amazing Carver sound but now have two Carver M-1.0t MKII opt 002 with double the power so this amp is now excess to my needs. The wife told me to clean up my listening room and get the stuff I don’t use out of thereDescriptionThe Carver M-1.0t power amplifier is unique in electronic and mechanical design. It is designed to provide the listener with a source of voltage and current to drive high fidelity loudspeaker systems. It has a very high efficiency of weight, size, heat dissipation and cost, with very low distortion and noise.Intended for use in the home high fidelity music system, it is capable of extremely high power output with excellent loudspeaker load-drive capability. The design has been optimized for home audio applications in which high power excursions are necessary to prevent distortion of dynamic transients, while bulk, weight, heat and price considerations have traditionally restricted use of such devices to a small number of consumers.Efficiency has been dramatically improved by techniques which substitute electronic control for the large quantities of bulk copper, iron and aluminium required by conventional designs. This control factor in the power supply section is augmented by amplifier design which dissipates power as required on signal demand so that heat sinking and quiescent dissipation are held to a minimum.Distortion components typical of the more efficient traditional class AB designs are virtually eliminated by use of sliding idle current.Comprehensive amplifier and loudspeaker protection is provided by conventional means, augmented by the controlled power-supply, which will shut down under unsafe conditions as determined by a separate sensing network.Analogue computer techniques are used to monitor operational parameters and override the normal power supply control function in the event that operating conditions become unsafe for amplifier or loudspeakers.Power output: 200 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohms, both channels driven, with no more than 0.15 percent total harmonic distortion, 20 to 20,000 Hz and 400 watts per channel into 4 ohm speakers.350 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohms, both channels driven for musically significant time periods.550 watts per channel of Dynamic HeadroomCan be bridged as a mono amp at 1000 watts into 8 ohms. Amazing for driving a subwoofer that will move you!Noise: 100 dB, IHF "A" weightingHarmonic distortion: Less than 0.15%Input impedance: 100 K ohmsLoad impedance: Recommended for driving impedances from 2 to 32 ohmsDisplay ballistics: 1 millisecond attack, 1 second releaseDimensions: 3-3/4" High, 19" wide, 13-1/2" deepWeight: 19 lbs.
