The Carlos 236 classical guitar is visually striking on account of the Brazilian rosewood back and sides. This particular guitar has only light wear including dinks to the back of the headstock on the treble side and a missing end segment of the plastic bridge trim. See the last photos for highlights of these two areas. Unlike other Carlos 236 guitars from the 1980s, the binding on this one has no age-related cracks nor does it have a milky finish. That sets it apart from most that are out there. I've owned several -- recently sold one and have another currently listed -- and will keep buying them as they great guitars. The tuners are functional but the G tuner is stiff, likely the plastic cylinder fitting a bit tightly in its wooden slot. There are no points of separation. This Carlos 236 is in the best condition of any I've come across. Tonally it delivers excellent projection, sustain and good balance between bass and treble. Action is set within classical parameters (see below for the data) to what feels and plays best for this particular guitar for me. Action can be lowered at the saddle another 0.5 mm; further reduction will require modifying the bridge.
