　　Throughout this summer 2012, the Humane Society of West Alabama wants to increase my chances at finding my forever home by reducing my adoption fee! Email my rescue group or stop in to meet me!

　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　This beautiful lady is Corndog, who has a funny name to go along with her personality! She's a Calico Bobtail, somewhere around 3 years of age. Corndog is a friendly and happy girl! She's a little large for her size, but it's likely due to a poor diet before she was abandoned. Corndog went to see a wonderful vet who found that she has a food allergy, which is completely controlled by simply giving her more wholesome dry food. Lower-quality pet food brands (and popular brands who you'd be surprised to hear made the list) contain certain ingredients that are not very nutritious and that some pets can be allergic to - or develop allergies to at any time. Sometimes those ingredients are actually more harmful than just as a random filler, like they're advertised. A few other less-expensive brands such as Purina do offer these more nutritious allergen-free foods for more wholesome diets, so it isn't so hard to maintain Corndog's food allergies. Poor Corndog was abandoned and not well taken care of! We can't imagine why, because she's so beautiful, has the cutest bobtail, and is such a joy to be around! We're hoping to find her a great new family! Corndog hopes you'll stop in at our cat adoption center to meet her!!

　　Negative for FIV and FeLK, current on vaccinations and has been spayed.

　　Our adoption fee is temporarily reduced to only $50, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Copies of vet records are given to adopters. Read up on our adoption process .
