CA/Hunter & Lexi (LA)'s story
Hello everyone
my name is Hunter and I am an 8 year old American Brittany. My family had to move and could not take me and my sister, Lexi. We need to stay together and we are so good! The nice people at NBRAN took us into rescue so me and Lexi could find a happy forever home.
So here I am in West Los Angeles with the nice people at NBRAN hanging out while we wait to find our forever family. I like be in whatever room my foster mom is in and I have no sense of what my foster mom calls "personal space." I don't understand that - I like to lay on top of her if she's on the couch or on a bed. I just like to keep her warm, so I don't really get this concept of personal space. If you are looking for a super affectionate companion, then I'm your guy and my sister, Lexi, is your gal. We will keep you warm on those long, winter nights and follow you to the bathroom. We are really good and take such good care of our foster mom and each other. So, the bad news is that I do pull on the leash so I need to work on that. We are working on it - I'm just such a happy guy and I get excited when out walking. My sister is so good, she doesn't pull on the leash at all.
We will need to go to an experienced Brittany family who know what we're all about. If bored, we will get into trouble. For example, I like to dig when I'm bored, so unless you are looking to install a pond on your property, you have to keep me exercised and engaged. Don't let my age fool you - in Brittany years, 8 is really 2! Don't let my name fool you, I am not a hunter and in fact, am afraid of gun shots and fireworks, so if you are looking for a hunting companion, I am probably not for you. On Independence Day, I will need to be kept inside with the windows closed as fireworks make me very nervous.
We both know basic commands and we love to RUN! I will need someone to walk me so I can take off some weight or I need a really big yard so I can run and run and chase all the birds and bunnies. I am housebroken, love other dogs and I love love love to be petted! I also really love my sister. My adoption fee is $200 and I am neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. So call Patti or email [email protected]
and lets chat.
If you are interested in adding Lexi and Hunter to your family, please complete an online application at (under the Adopt tab). Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator. A telephone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.
Lexi and Hunter are eligible for our wonderful Senior-to-Senior program. If you are a senior, age 60 or over, each adoption fee will be reduced to $100 ($100 for Lexi and $100 for Hunter).
If you are not in Southern California, we have an amazing group of volunteer drivers and pilots who will bring Lexi and Hunter to you in the western states only. Please chat with Patti or your state coordinator for details. We do try to minimize the journey for our beloved brittanys because the transports can be stressful. Thank you for ready my bio and I hope we can meet! Oh, and one more thing - NBRAN really needs foster homes right now. If you can just open your heart and home for a little while, it will make a world of difference for these amazing Brittanys.
