Buddy Barnes's story
Buddy is a 4 year old small terrier mix. He only weighs about 10 lbs but he is bigger than a Chihuahua and very much has a terrier personality (i.e. he likes to chase things and carry small toys around and hunt the cats). Buddy is a more shy and timid fellow, and would do better in a quieter home without small children. He would be fine with older kids if introduced properly. He is very friendly once he settles in and enjoys being your sofa buddy and he particularly enjoys being your personal bed heater under the covers at night. Buddy is doing well with house training but he can be a bit of a submissive peer. A belly band for the first few weeks at a new place will be a good idea, but once he gets to know you he is just fine. He can stay in a crate during the day but he does enjoy sleeping with you at night. He needs some work learning more about the big wide world. His foster home has been working teaching him new things with treats (which he thinks is awesome) and he needs more time with car rides and walking the neighborhood. He loves being outside but he just hasnt seen a lot of it. He does fine with other dogs if they stay away from his food and seems more competitive with smaller dogs than bigger ones
he loves and plays with the young lab puppy in his foster home. He does fine with dog savvy cats but he does like to chase them and pester them a bit so they run. This is not going well in his foster home since his foster buddy cats weigh more than him and pretty much dont take him seriously. So he isnt any harm about cats but he can be a little bit of a pest.
Buddy is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped. He is fostered in the Madison, AL area.
