My story
Brielle is a 2-year-old female Bluetick Coonhound who must be spayed before she is adopted. She was found out in the county at a hunting club; and her owner never came to reclaim her. Brielle has the classic coat of a Bluetick--white with a black-ticked pattern and other black and tan markings. She has those gorgeous hound ears that are velvety soft and so pretty! Brielle currently weighs 38 pounds so she is considered to be a medium sized dog. This sleekly beautiful Bluetick Coonhound is a sweet and affectionate charmer who might enjoy snoozing in the shade, but in pursuit of quarry she would be relentless, bold, and single-minded. Her energy needs to be channeled with lots of exercise and a fenced yard where she can safely play. Brielle does have the distinct baying of a coonhound and can be heard all around the shelter as she greets volunteers, staff members, and other dogs with her loud and mournful bay. Her droopy-eared charm is irresistible to all she meets; and Brielle would be fine with other dogs and older children. Brielle craves affection and is deeply devoted to anyone who provides it. According to the person who found her, she is house trained and leash trained but she is a bit unruly on the leash and needs work on it. Brielle has a ton of potential to be a great dog as long as her adopter is up to the challenge of working with her and making sure she gets her abundant energy under control by lots of exercise.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120 and cat/kitten adoption fees are $50. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.
