Date of birth:

4/27/2018:
Brian is a very cute little Jack Russell/Wirehair Terrier mix.
Hes 3 years old and weighs 15 lbs.
Brian is very friendly.
He likes to be petted and held.
Hes also a pretty peppy guy, and he loves running around in the yard!
We also noticed that he checked out the gate and fence as if perhaps looking for a way out and greener grass, so he should have supervision in the yard initially and a very secure fence to be safe.
He's a Terrier!
Brian is more interested in people, but he gets along with other dogs and is in our small dog playgroup. He hasnt played a lot with the other dogs, but hangs out with them and is fine, although he doesnt really like them in his face a lot.
If you have a dog, wed ask you to make an appointment to bring your dog in to meet Brian to see if they could be buddies.
Brian has done well with the cats hes met here.
He's sometimes a little bit nippy when he plays. It's not aggressive in nature, but he wouldn't be a good match for young children. He should be fine with older kids.
Brian
was found as a stray.
The poor guy was very skinny, filthy and urine soaked.
Hes in good shape now though
hes gained some weight and had several baths to get him smelling good! Hes also been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms.
MORE ON ADOPTING OUR DOGS...
Please visit our web site at HSGKC.ORG for more information about our adoption process, our adoption fees and all that's included, and for a pet adoption application.
> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. We encourage you to fill out an online adoption application and submit it before you come to see us. This helps us process your application more quickly and we can schedule an appointment for you to come in so that our small staff can serve you best. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of the pets you meet, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the pet home with you that day. Well instead schedule a pick up date and time thats convenient for you.
> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home.
All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!
> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs.
Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.
Thank you for searching for a shelter pet!
