　　Meet Miss Congeniality -- Stella, a two to three year old female boxer/terrier mix. She has a nice smooth rusty brown coat and a black muzzle. She is not as big as a boxer but is solid muscle, weighing 33 pounds and this is full grown. Stella was a stray that was kept for a while by the person who found her but then they couldn't keep her so they turned her into our local Animal Shelter. She had been at the Shelter for a month then went to a foster home for three months. But she started chasing the family cats and upsetting them so she was put outside. There, the fencing wasn't very strong and she was pushing and digging her way out. So they had to crate her which isn't good. So the Shelter and foster asked if we could take her on. And we are glad we could!

　　Stella is so sweet and friendly! She is just a big wiggle worm - typical boxer behavior of wagging her whole body when excited. Stella loves to play with other dogs and is great with children. But she does like to chase cats, we think more out of curiosity but better not to find out!! Stella is pretty energetic but then will crash and settle down with you. She will require a sturdy, fenced in yard. She can jump a six foot fence, including a privacy fence, so she can't be left out alone in a yard for an extended period of time

　　Stella did get adopted back in March. She was on our Petfinder list as Priscilla. She did great in her new home but one of the dogs already there is a rescued bait dog and something about Stella set the dog off and she kept trying to attack Stella. This kept on the whole time she was there and just not fair for Stella to always be scared so we are looking to rehome her again. Here are some notes from her former owner:

　　She does know her name as Stella now. She is great in her crate, goes in easily and is quiet and calm once inside. Stella will sleep all night in the crate or in a bed snuggled with someone. She is a great traveler in a car, potties well on leash and has wonderful manners in a hotel room. Is house trained and has good house manners. Will sit for a treat and takes it gently from a hand. She likes ice cubes as treats when she is hot. She likes tennis balls, frisbees and tug toys. She is wonderful with other dogs and will be submissive if another dog is aggressive towards her. She likes hunting lizards and frogs.

　　Stella is up to date on her vet care, spayed and is heartworm negative. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. This is one dog you've just got to see in person to truly appreciate!!
