Bootleg's story

　　Bootleg -- My shelter file name is Bootleg. I'm a really sweet older fella, a really handsome beagle, actually, but I am really frightened here in the shelter. I don't want to be here, but I know none of the other dogs want to be here, either. I just don't know who I can trust...who will be kind and loving to me. I am learning that all of the people here loves us dogs, so I'm beginning to slowly let them pet and love on me. I know I should have stayed at home, because when I went for a walk down the road, someone saw me and called a man in a big white truck to come and get me. He really scared me, but he finally caught me and brought me here. I really am a very good older soul, and I do like people and I love to be petted by people I know and trust. I can't talk like humans do, so I can't tell these nice people where I live, so if you know who my owner is, please call them and tell them where I am. If they don't come and get me, I will be made available for adoption (whatever that is), and I will have to hope for a new family with a nice warm home to decide they would like to share their home with me.
