Bonnie's story

　　Bonnie (aka 'Bon Bon') is a fabulous Beagle lady!! Bonnie is about 2 years old, around 25 lbs, and is that perfect "portable" beagle size! Bonnie has the precious beagle tail that points to the sky, and the wonderfully soft droopy ears that hang toward the ground. She loves to cuddle up with her foster mom on the couch or in the bed at night, and she's also quite happy to curl up next to her canine friends. Bonnie loves all dogs - she has never met a canine stranger. She's a little curious about cats, but shows no violent or aggressive behavior. Bonnie is fostered on a horse farm and even shares her house with a giant pet pig, and she handles the pig and the horses just fine.

　　Bonnie was found wandering all alone, and it is assumed that she was a hunting dog who got lost from her pack and left behind. She has a very strong hunting instinct, so she requires a fenced backyard and an owner who will take her on regular leashed walks. She walks great on a leash, but she WILL follow her nose if she's left unattended, so a secure fence is important. Bonnie is fully house trained (with access to a doggie door), and she is OK with being crated if necessary.

　　Bonnie is very shy around men; we feel that she was likely abused by a man at some point. But she adores women, and she has recently started to kiss and snuggle her foster dad. So she needs an adopter who is willing to allow her plenty of time to adjust before expecting too much. Bonnie looks to her canine companions to instill confidence, so we would like her to be adopted to a home with at least one other dog.
