Bob Barker is a young and very active shepherd mix who was brought to the shelter as a stray. This big boy is a real clown with an abundant supply of energy and an inclination to tease and pick at you in an attempt to get you to play with him. He doesn't have the appearance of a heeler, but his behavior would certainly seem to suggest that heeler is 'in his blood'. Bob Barker is as sweet and lovable as he can be, but he doesn't seem to realize his own strength, nor does he appear to have a limit to his energy! His form of play can sometime seem a little rough and he has the same tendency that heelers have of trying to herd you by grasping your hand with his mouth to lead you. He doesn't intentionally apply much pressure, but it does happen occasionally. Potential adopters should be aware that this is not a form of aggression, but a breed characteristic. Bob Barker could use a bit of obedience training, but he would make an absolutely wonderful companion for an active adult or couple. He would be a bit rough for smaller children or an elderly or infirm owner. If Bob Barker is not reclaimed by his owner, he will be made available for adoption.
