My story
Bo is a 2-year-old neutered male Australian Shepherd who is looking to find a new home. Bo is loving and loyal. He is incredibly affectionate, intelligent, and adores his people. He provides great companionship and the best cuddles. He loves to play fetch and roll around in the grass. His goofy smile and demeanor are infectious. While Bo is already very good with obedience, he will also be enrolled in a 3-week behavior modification/obedience boarding program at Art Of The Dog Canine Academy at the end of September to hone in on those skills, which includes a lifetime of support with behavior and obedience training. An environment with a large outdoor space and infrequent interactions with new people would help Bo to feel safe and relaxed. Bo tends to have an easier time with people who are not men, has lived with a cat but hasn’t been around very many others, and does well with other dogs depending on circumstances. Bo has some possessive aggression behaviors driven by fear and anxiety that require ample time and neutral space to meet new people and make sure he feels safe and trusting of those people. He has no bite history but has tendencies to lunge, bark, and warn new people who enter his space. Bo has been prescribed Prozac by a behavioral vet and we have developed strategies to get him acclimated to new faces and spaces. Once he warms, you get to experience all his love and affection! If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
