This is actually a straight R80, but I Have added an original RT fairing with full lowers, about a 6 inch over stock new windshield, BMW hard bags, and aftermarket tail trunk with padded passenger back rest and lock and key. The trunk is mounted on a Reynolds luggage rack. In order to use the Reynolds rack, I had to also use Reynolds saddle bag mounts, but the bags are stock BMW items. Saddle bags lock closed and also lock to the mounts. Also has engine case guards. Sheet metal and body parts are in good condition. Good seat foam, no holes or tears in cover. Carbs were just rebuilt, to include new floats, float needles, new intake air tubes and new throttle cable. Side Stand fixer bracket so the side stand stays extended even without the weight of the bike on it. Flip-A-Lever throttle lock / cruise control. Speedometer rebuilt at 40,120 miles. Transmission rebuilt, new clutch, new steering bearings, new fork seals, new air filter all at 42,420 miles. New clutch cable at 48,000 miles. New transmission neutral switch last week.
54,900 miles on bike. I have owned this bike for 14 years and bought it with 19,000 on the odometer. I have taken care of it and always stored it indoors when not ridden. I will provide all receipts and maintenance records for the time that I have owned it. With that in mind, it is 27 years old and has been a rider, not a garage queen, so here are the issues: As I already mentioned, carbs are freshly rebuilt, but still need some fiddling with and balancing by someone more competent than me with Bing carburetors. Push rod tubes are starting to get some leakage. Forty foot paint job. . ..looks pretty good from 40 feet away. Up close there is some bubbling on the tank, chips and bubbles on some of the fairing pieces. Good front tire, but rear is marginal. I have two new, unmounted, front and rear tires that I will include. Other than that, it is a decent looking, good running classic BMW Airhead. I would be confident to ride this bike on an extended cross country trip now. I can provide more photos and close ups if you need them. Feel free to call or text Floyd at .
