My story
Blue and his brother Shirochan came to us from the west side of Oahu. They were pulled from a homeless camp where they and 20 other were secured in a tent. The vet believes he's about 2 years old and he weighs 30lbs. Blue was in pretty bad shape when he arrived in April of 2020. He's overcome malnutrition, mange, an ear and eye infection, surgery to pull his eyelids away from his eyes, a neuter and some really itchy skin. He now has a clean bill of health.Blue is still working on increasing the amount of time he can spend alone quietly in a crate, walking nicely on a leash and improving his social skills when meeting new dogs.Blue has shown himself to be a very happy and gentle soul. He very much enjoys the company of humans, but so far, only large ones. Small children seem to frighten him. He also enjoys the company of his 4-legged canine housemates; they have really helped him learn to be more calm. He loves to play with squeaky toys (and shred them), car rides and hikes. He's slowly be introduced to water, but hasn't taken an immediate like for it. While in foster care, Blue has learned some basic obedience (sit, down, shake and wait).
