My story
07/10/19 Blackie came to the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her. She is an outside dog and has been trained for mushing; she generally ran in the wheel position. If you have any children in the home we recommend you bring them down to meet her.Blackie is the more outgoing and sociable of these sisters. If you have room in your household for a pair, she may enjoy being adopted along with her sister Princess; together they could potentially do well as a child's beginning mushing team. She was kept with her sister Princess and another dog but may not do as well with dogs outside this group as she has not been extensively socialized. If you have another dog in the home, she should meet that dog prior to adoption to ensure she can live happily with it. Blackie's sister was known to kill chickens, and Blackie may have similar inclinations as she has a high prey drive, so we are requiring that she go to a home without cats/small animals/chickens/dogs under 20lbs.
