Black Labrador Retriever - Sweetheart - Medium - Adult - Female

　　Hey guys! I am Sweetheart and I have BDS, which is the only thing that is wrong with me. Well, that and I only like dogs that are smaller than me. Don?t be afraid of BDS ? you can?t catch it; because it is only Black Dog Syndrome. BDS affects many dogs just like me in a shelter setting. We may be perfect dogs but we get passed over time after time because of our color. Can you believe that? Black Dog Syndrome is basically the philosophy that we are just too plain ordinary. Believe me, I am far beyond ordinary. Take a few minutes to get to know me and you will see.

　　I am almost five years old ? hey, I am out of the puppy stage so I don?t chew things. I am kennel trained and I walk politely on a leash. I ride wonderfully in the car because I always know I am going somewhere fun, well except for those pesky vet trips. But I guess I don?t mind the vet trips too much because ARF has to make sure that I am up to date on my shots, which I am. I am also spayed and I have a microchip so I won?t get lost.

　　All of the volunteers at ARF absolutely love me and see my sweet personality. I get extra special attention because I have been at the ARFanage for a long time but what I really want more than anything is a home of my very own. At adoptions, people just see through me, around me, over me, everywhere but at me. Please give me a chance because I have so much love to give to the right person and I know you are out there waiting for me. Thanks for reading my story and hope to see you soon!

　　SWEETHEART is a female Black Labrador Retriever / Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix and is approximately 4 1/2 years old (May 2011). She is a medium size dog and weighs about 43 pounds. SWEETHEART is a happy, friendly and affectionate girl. She LOVES all people and all the attention they will give her! She has a medium energy level and loves to play! SWEETHEART especially loves to play with the puppies and is ARFs puppy sitter! She is gentle and loving and takes care of the puppies as if they were her own. SWEETHEART would make a great pet for a family or someone who leads an active lifestyle. She is just as content to sit beside you and have her ears rubbed, as she is to be going on an adventure.
