Solid, heavy, mostly wood and high quality materials; no cheap laminate here. It moves easily on casters so it can fit into a small space, and then move it to open up. Good size for an apartment or dorm. High-quality drawer-slides don't fall out when fully opened, and it doesn't tip over. The mail slots are a separate part that can be moved. The front section of the top, in front of the bill slots, has a lid but the hinges broke; you can repair if you like, or just use it as a cubby as we did.
