My name is Big Leo, and pay attention to the first word in my name! Yep, I am a big beefcake who loves to be loved. I used to live with someone, until one day I got sick. It really, really hurt when I peed, and I just couldn't make it to the box in time. Instead of taking me to the vet, that meanie just slapped my bottom every time I peed outside the box... I became frightened and shy, and tried to hold my pee as long as possible, and even started hissing at my person. They gave me away, and that one didn't help me either, so they gave me away too, and that one ended up giving me up to a shelter... I was so scared, and SO sad, and I still hurt! Luckily, when ALF rescued me, they found out I had a bad urinary tract infection-- common in cats, and TOTALLY treatable, if only someone had paid attention!! I'm all fixed now, thank goodness. I will need to be on special urinary food, maybe for the rest of my life, but I'm healthy otherwise, and I always make it to the litter box now. I get a little sassy sometimes, but I am still learning how to trust people-- sometimes I get nervous that I'll be spanked again. I love being petted and getting ear scritches, but I am not crazy about being picked up! I get along with other cats, after a few quick growls to determine who's the boss.
